Anti-Ahmadinejad Demonstrations at Tehran Universities

Recently there was a demonstration of students prior to the Iranian president's speech outside of Tehran University. No journalists were permitted in the hall where he gave the speech. Student's demonstrating were shouting "death to the dictator", while there was another pro-government demonstration there as well.

Additionally some comments that Ahmadinejad made in Columbia University in the US were deleted. Speculation is that comments that were against previous president Rafsanjani were deleted, indicating that perhaps Ahmadinejad has fewer supporters in the media.

Additionally Gooya news had coverage of the protests. Gooya news estimated a number of 1000 students demonstrating. One of the protestors stated:" Mr. Ahmadinejad claims that we have freedom in Iranian Universities, I would like to ask him to free my classmates from prison. The president should be held accountable for his lies. Mr. Ahmadinejad, you must return our professors and classmates back to class. You have expelled our professors for the crime of insulting the sacred. Mr. Ahmadinejad, you do not count as part of the sacred."
